Meet the Team
Design Thinking and Flexible Learning
Our programme is built around Design Thinking. A creative, human-centred approach that supports learners to solve real problems and develop future-ready skills.
Design Thinking encourages curiosity, empathy, and innovation supporting women to explore how data and digital tools can make a difference in their communities.
By using this approach, we’ve created a flexible learning model tailored to our learners lives. Learners benefit from our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), our bite sized videos, flipped classrooms, self-paced resources, evening sessions, and Saturday workshops to ensure everyone can progress at their own pace.
This structure builds confidence and practical experience helping learners turn ideas into action through collaboration, creativity, and applied data projects.
Structured Mentorship & Inclusive Recruitment
A core strength of the Dundee Women and Future Skills Programme is its structured mentorship, led by Katarina from The Data Gals, a finalist for Mentor of the Year at the SWIT Awards. The Data Gals are also finalists for Inclusive Recruiter of the Year, recognising their commitment to supporting women into digital roles.
Each learner is matched with a personal mentor, receiving one-to-one guidance throughout the six-month programme. Combined with wellbeing support and inclusive recruitment practices, this creates a holistic development model — empowering participants not only to gain qualifications, but to build the confidence, networks, and resilience needed to thrive in the digital workforce.
This mentorship model has a proven record of success, helping women secure new roles, promotions, and long-term career progression.
Partnership & Collaboration
This programme showcases the power of partnership. Developed by Code Division, Nomad Alba, and The Data Gals, it blends technical learning, wellbeing, and inclusion into a single, impactful experience.
Code Division, a finalist in the Tech for Good category at the Social Enterprise Scotland Awards, brings years of experience delivering accessible digital training to disadvantaged communities. Nomad Alba focuses on community, remote work, and wellbeing, while The Data Gals bring expertise in mentorship and inclusive recruitment.
Together, these partners ensure the Dundee Women and Future Skills Programme delivers real change — for individuals, employers, and the wider community.
We welcome anyone interested in supporting this initiative or organisations wishing to create a similar programme in their area to get in touch. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do — and together, we can build a more inclusive digital future.
